Choosing a Full Size Blanket
Whether you are cozied up on the couch binge-watching your favorite show, or snuggled up in bed for a restful night of sleep, the right blanket can make all the difference. The perfect blanket size depends on how you plan to use it, and the mattress you are using it with.
The most common full size blanket are twin, double and queen. They are designed to fit over these standard mattress sizes without leaving a lot of extra material hanging off the sides. Some people prefer a blanket that drapes over the side of their mattress to provide warmth and keep them tucked in at night. Others might want a blanket that is a bit lighter to allow them to move around easily during the night.

Crib blankets are slightly larger to allow them to be used to swaddle infants or toddlers while they sleep. These blankets are also used as security blankets to help children feel safe and comfortable in their cribs. Lovey blankets are a special type of security blanket with a small stuffed animal attached to them, usually for babies who have had an adverse experience in the past. These are often the first blankets that a child takes with them when they go to sleep, to help them feel secure as they drift off into dreamland.
Other blanket sizes include lapghans, stroller blankets and weighted blankets. Lapghans are crocheted blankets that measure approximately 36 by 48 inches. They are designed to wrap around a person comfortably, and they can also be used as baby blankets for strollers or car seats. Stroller blankets are similar to lapghans but they are smaller in size. Weighted blankets are heavier than regular blankets to apply pressure to the body and help with anxiety, insomnia, autism or other conditions.
